Women’s Tennis Set to Host SMU on Tuesday

TAMPA, March 11, 2019 – The University of South Florida women's tennis team will play against SMU at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts on Tuesday at noon.
 
USF (6-7, 1-0 AAC) is coming into this match with one conference win under its belt. The Bulls defeated Tulane at home, 4-2, when USF rallied back after dropping the doubles point to claim the win.  
 
No. 43 senior Ana Roman Dominguez (Burgos, Spain) is 10-1 this season with four ranked wins, her most recent against No. 111 Iuliia Bryzgalova from Penn. Freshman Laura Pellicer Perello (Gandia, Valencia, Spain), has won four straight singles matches on three different courts and has six wins in her last seven matches.
 
Seniors Vanja Klaric (Gaborone Botswana), and Nicole Dzenga (Harare, Zimbabwe), lead the Bulls in doubles a 5-4 record on court one.
 
Scouting the Opponent:
SMU
SMU (4-7, 1-1 AAC) most recent match was a 4-2 loss to No. 24 Texas A&M. The Mustangs have one ranked singles player, No. 114 senior Liza Buss, who in her first conference matchup, on court one, 6-3, 6-0, against Elena Muller from Tulane. The Mustang's best doubles pair, sophomore Tiffany Hollebeck and junior Karina Traxler are 10-2 at the No. 3 spot.
