TAMPA, Jan. 16, 2020 – The University of South Florida women's tennis team will be seeking to start the season with a win against Cornell at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts on Friday followed by Stetson at home on Sunday.

The Bulls are coming off of a 13-11 season and finished second in the American Athletic Conference Tournament.

"Always exciting to start our spring season and this year is no different" said head coach Cristina Moros. "I am really looking forward to seeing this team's hard work both on and off the court showcased this weekend in our first matches of the season against some tough competition. I feel this team is as prepared as they have ever been, and we are going to need that for both Friday and Sunday."

The women's tennis team is led by the senior Janvhi Clark (Tauranga, New Zealand) and reigning American Freshman of the Year, Laura Pellicer Perello (Gandia, Valencia, Spain). Perello posted a 14-8 record and held an eight-match winning streak in 2019.
