Former Bulls Listro and Viens Earn Opportunity with Canadian National Team

TAMPA, Jan. 26, 2021 – Two past members of the University of South Florida women's soccer team, Jordyn Listro and Evelyne Viens, were selected to participate in a two-week preparation camp leading up to the 2021 SheBelieves Cup presented by Visa. This is the first call-up for each of the two former Bulls.

"It's amazing to see these two finally get the chance to represent Canada," head coach Denise Schilte-Brown said. "We're excited to continue to watch their successes in higher levels of soccer. Ev has been dominating in France with Paris FC and Jordy worked to get back to be playing in the NWSL and at the international level and I couldn't be prouder of the pair as they enter the training camp."

Listro is a current member of the National Women's Soccer League's Orlando Pride. She signed a one-year contract with an option for a second year on Jan. 15 after a stint with the team for the NWSL's 2020 Fall Series.

In her three games with the Pride during the fall, Listro totaled 262 minutes with one shot on goal and an 80.5 percent passing accuracy, which was second-highest on the team. Listro worked her way back into soccer after transitioning away to another career in 2018. Before the transition, she had played for U.D.G. Tenerife in Spain's Pimera Division in 2017 and 2018.

Listro graduated from USF in 2017, following an exceptional career for the Bulls. The Toronto native set the program record for career games played with 82 during her four years. She tallied five assists in her time with USF and during her senior year, she helped the Bulls keep a perfect record longer than any other team in the nation with eight straight wins.

"It's an honor to be called to the national team. I've dreamed of this moment since I was eight years old," Listro said. "A big thank you to Denise and Chris for their endless support through every step of the way. Excited to get to work and make the most of this opportunity!"
Viens, a three-time All-American who played for South Florida between 2016 and 2019, is currently playing for Paris FC in the Division 1 Feminine on loan from the NWSL's Sky Blue F.C. She was the second-highest draft pick in USF Athletics history, taken No. 5 overall in the 2020 NWSL Draft.

Since graduating, she's played in six games for Sky Blue, totaling 141 minutes and a goal, and in 12 games for Paris, scoring seven goals and gathering an assist in 713 minutes. She made her professional debut on June 30, 2020, in the preliminary round of the NWSL's Challenge Cup and scored her first pro goal less than a month later, on July 22. She recorded her first professional hat trick with Paris FC on Oct. 10, 2020.

In 77 career games, the Canadian broke over 15 program or conference records, including setting the new USF and American career marks with 73 goals, 169 points and 360 shots. She also tallied new USF single-season marks in points (53) and goals (25). The program's first All-American in 2017 also repeated with the honor twice more, earning a second third-team honor in 2018 and a second-team honor in 2019. In total, Viens logged over 5,800 game minutes on the pitch.

"It is an honor to be called up to my first camp with the national team," Viens said. "I am excited to represent Canada on the international stage and play with this team!"
