Bulls Prepare for Second Meeting Against UNF

TAMPA, FLA., Feb. 23, 2021 – The University of South Florida women's tennis team remains at home to host University of North Florida, Wednesday at 2 p.m., on the USF Varsity Tennis Courts.

Due to virus mitigation measures and the size of the venue, USF will not allow fans inside the USF Varsity Tennis Courts complex.

South Florida is coming off of its first win at home and second consecutive win Sunday against Liberty, 4-3. Senior Alex Mjos (Austin, Texas) picked up her third straight singles win and defeated her Liberty opponent in straight sets. Sunday also featured strong singles performances by sophomore
Margriet Timmermans (Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands), who improved to 4-0 in singles, and junior
Amelie Boy (Trianon, Mauritius) that got her third singles victory on court one.

"I feel like our previous UNF match was a spark for us to work on some things and get better," head coach
Cristina Moros said. "Looking forward to a rematch with them as we always have great battles and excited to see how our team is progressing as the season goes on."

Scouting North Florida
UNF is currently 3-3, coming off a loss to FIU, 5-2, on Feb. 20. Since the meeting with the Bulls on Feb. 8, the Ospreys have lost three straight matches. Â Â

In the last matchup against USF, North Florida was victorious, 6-1, and three singles courts went into a third set tiebreaker with UNF winning two out of the three. North Florida has a two-match win streak against USF, but South Florida holds the 9-3 advantage in the all-time series.
