Bulls Fall To UNF On The Road, 6-1
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Feb. 8, 2021 – University of South Florida women's tennis team lost to North Florida on the road on Monday, 6-1.
Freshman
Grace Schumacher (Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia) and sophomore
Margriet Timmermans (Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands) dropped their doubles set, 6-2 to Catherine Gulihur and Ana Paula Melilo. Soon after, North Florida's Lucia Montano and Constanza Gorches clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 victory against junior
Amelie Boy (Trianon, Mauritius) and senior
Evelyne Tiron (Bucharest, Romania).
The Ospreys picked up the next three singles points to clinch the win. The Bulls continued to fight on the remaining three courts with Boy, Tiron, and sophomore Lucia Garrigues (Valencia, Spain) forcing their courts to third set tiebreakers. Boy got the lone point for the Bulls to close the match defeating No. 84 Lucia Montano, 6-4, 0-6, 10-5.
