TAMPA, FLA., March 15, 2021 – The University of South Florida women's tennis team goes back on the road to face Florida Atlantic tomorrow at 10 a.m. followed by a trip to Coral Gables, Fla. to play No. 34 Miami on Wednesday, March 17 at 11 a.m.

South Florida is coming off of a hard loss to No. 24 Furman, 6-1, ending its four-match win streak.
Evelyne Tiron (Bucharest, Romania) got the lone point for the Bulls and earned her second win of the season, defeating Furman's Maggie Pate in straight sets, 7-6, 7-5.

"I feel like our team learned a lot from our last match against Furman," head coach
Cristina Moros said. "And we have been able to put in some hard work that we hope will pay off when we travel to FAU and Miami. We know we need to bring some of our best tennis to have a chance and I believe our team is ready to bring that." Â

Scouting FAU
FAU is currently 5-4 with a win against FAMU on March 13. They are led by junior Natalia Boltinskaya, who competes at the No. 1 and 2 singles spots for the Owls. Boltinskaya holds a 5-3 singles record with a victory over the No. 102 ranked player.

In the last matchup against the Owls, FAU came out on top with a 4-3 win, but South Florida holds a 3-1 advantage in the all-time series.

Scouting No. 34 Miami
The Hurricanes are ranked No. 34 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and are coming off of a win against Boston College on Monday. Miami is 5-5 on the season with wins against No. 23 Ole Miss and No. 50 Syracuse.

Miami has three players ranked in the ITA Singles Ranking: Estela Perez-Somarriba (No. 2), Daeveni Achong (No. 87) and Selma Cadar (No. 102). Perez-Somarriba leads the Hurricanes with a 7-2 singles record and 2-2 doubles record at the No. 1 spot.
