TAMPA, Fla., April 8, 2021 – The University of South Florida women's tennis team will suit up for the War on I-4 against No. 18 UCF, scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday, April 9.Ā

South Florida is coming off of two ranked losses against No. 37 Rice University, 4-0, and No. 43 FIU, 4-2. Margriet Timmermans (Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands) had solid performances in both matches. She was one of the few Bulls to take a first set in the match against No. 37 Rice and came out with her nineth singles win over No. 43 FIU, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4.Ā

Against their rival, the Bulls will look for strong performances in Timmermans as well as Grace Schumacher (Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia), who leads the team with eleven singles wins.

"UCF is having an excellent season and is proving to be one of the better teams in country," head coach Cristina Moros said. "We know that in rivalry matches, anything can happen. Our team will be prepared to make the most of this opportunity as we head into the post season." Ā

The Knights are 12-4 and currently ranked No. 18 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. UCF is coming off of a 4-1 loss against No. 33 Oklahoma this Sunday, April 4.Ā

UCF has three players ranked in the ITA Singles Ranking: Valeriya Zeleva (No. 25), Rebeka Stolmar (No. 38), and Evgeniya Levashova (No. 85). They also have two ranked doubles pairs with Stolmar and Marie Mattel (No. 30) along with Zeleva and Ksenia Kuznetsova (No. 75).Ā
