Tulsa,ย Okla.,ย Octoberย 28, 2022 โย The University of South Floridaย men's and women'sย cross-country men and women's teams competedย in theย American Athletic Conference Championships held atย Mohawk Park on Friday.ย

Theย women finished inย 11thย with a final score of 313 and theย men's squadย checked in atย 9thย place among with a score of 259.ย

Freshman Cora Kolodge (Fair Haven, Mich.) paced the women's team with a time of 22:50.1 and finished in 51st position, while Kelly Lynch (Wilmington, Del.) placed second for the Bulls in 53rd position with a time of 22:54.7. Alyssa Wyatt (Jacksonville, Fla.) rounded out the top three for the Bulls with a mark of 23:52.0.ย

For the men's 8K race, senior Ben Kailesย (Jacksonville, Fla.) was the top finished for USF with a time of 25:40.5. Tyler Wadsworth (Port Charlotte, Fla.) and Sebastian Edwards (Celebration, Fla.) followed behind for the Bullsย with times ofย 26:31.9ย and 26:33.8.

Following the AAC Championships, the NCAA South Regional races begin in Huntsville, Ala. Followed by the NCAA Championships in Stillwater, Okla., scheduled for Nov. 11 and 19, respectively.

The USFย Cross Countryย team has earnedย 2ย All-America selections,ย Christina Benton in 2002 and Grayย Mavheraย in 1994.ย The Bulls have advanced to the NCAA Cross Country Championships seven times in program history, three times for the men and four times for the women.ย The USF men's team have won seven team conference championships and the women have won five team championships. Head coachย Erik Jenkinsย took over the program inย 2019andย during his tenureย the Bulls postedย twelveย program records andย 106ย top 10ย all-time program marks. USF hosted theย 2018 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary and the 2021 AAC Outdoor Championship at the USF Track and Field Stadium, as well as the 2022 AAC Country Cross Country Championship at Holloway Park.ย
