Lynch and Dravo pace Bulls at NCAA Regionals

Gainesville, Fla.,ย Novemberย 10, 2023 โย The University of South Floridaย sent three runners to competeย in the NCAA South Regionals held at Mark Bostic Golf Course on Friday.
Seniorย Kelly Lynchย (Wilmington, Del.) finished 106th overall with a time of 20:58.4 in the 6K women's race, which set a new personal record for her on what Assistant Coach Tony Nicolosi described as a challenging course.
For the men's 10K race, freshman Jackson Dravo (St. Johns) paced the Bulls finishing 84th overall with a time of 31:30.3 on the course, also setting his personal record in this event. USF also sent graduate Nickolas Kamenย (Naples), who finished 148th with a time of 33:47.4
"I was pleased with the effort of the individuals who participated in the NCAA South Region Championship," Director of Track & Field and Cross Countryย Erik Jenkins said. "Each showed positive signs in a very competitive enviorment and warm conditions. This meet capped a solid season for that group."
Only the top two teams and four individuals automatically qualify to travel to Charlottesville, VA., for the NCAA Championship competitions scheduled for Nov. 18.
About USF Cross Country
The USFย Cross Countryย team has earnedย 2ย All-America selections,ย Christina Benton in 2002 and Grayย Mavheraย in 1994.ย The Bulls have advanced to the NCAA Cross Country Championships seven times in program history, three times for the men and four times for the women.ย The USF men's teams have won seven team conference championships and the women have won five team championships. Director of Track & Field and Cross Countryย Erik Jenkinsย took over the program inย 2019 andย during his tenureย the Bulls postedย twelveย program records andย 106ย top 10ย all-time program marks. USF hosted theย 2018 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary and the 2021 AAC Outdoor Championship at the USF Track and Field Stadium, as well as the 2022 AAC Country Cross Country Championship at Holloway Park.ย
