TAMPA, FLA., Feb. 10, 2023 – The USF men's golf team will begin its 2023 spring season and quest to continue a string of nine-straight NCAA Regional appearances on Saturday at the Gators Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
 
The Bulls will join a field of 13 teams on the Mark Bostick Golf Course (Par 70, 6,701 yards) with 36 holes scheduled for Saturday and 18 on Sunday. The host University of Florida has won 28 Gators Invitational titles and enters ranked No. 8 nationally.
 
The Bulls
Head coach Steve Bradley enters the spring campaign with five Bulls on the roster, all will take the course this weekend:
Sam Nicholson (Jr., Atlantic Beach, Fla.)
Shubham Jaglan (So., Delhi, India)
Chase Gullikson (So., Orlando, Fla.)
Jake Peacock (So., Milton, Ga.)
Nino Palmquist (Fr., Halmstad, Sweden)
 
Quoting Head Coach Steve Bradley
"Obviously, our team is a lot smaller than we anticipated, but it's a chance for everyone to play and compete. We need everyone. I don't think we played that well in the fall, but I see a different mindset now. Our practices have been better than at any point in the fall.
"So, I'm optimistic about what we can accomplish. I do think we have the talent. I think we've got guys who can perform under pressure. I think we have to flush the fall and not worry about what we did in September and October, but focus on what we can accomplish this spring.''

The Field
Florida Atlantic, Florida (host), Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Liberty, North Florida, North Texas, Penn State, South Florida, Stetson, and West Virginia.
 
Last Time out
The Bulls closed out the fall campaign with a 12th-place finish at the Cal Poly Collegiate in Carmel, Calif. Sophomore Shubham Jaglan led USF with a three-round score of 212 (-4) to claim eighth place individually. South Florida collectively posted a score of 882 (+18) to place 12th in the 13-team field. Ohio State won the tournament with a score of 845 (-19).
 
About USF Men's Golf
The USF men's golf program has captured 17 conference titles and has seen players earn 19 All-America honors. The Bulls have won five American Athletic Conference Tournament championships in wire-to-wire fashion, winning four-consecutive from 2015-18. The Bulls have had four individual conference champions, including Albin Bergstrom in 2021, and gone on to earn nine straight NCAA Regional appearances, including a 6^th place finish in NCAA Championship match-play in 2015. USF is led by Steve Bradley, who has been named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year five times since taking over the program in 2014. The Bulls have posted 20 tournament wins under Bradley entering the 2022-23 season, by far the most under any coach in program history.
