TAMPA (October 29, 2024) – Freshman Sienna Leeson and returning junior Melisa Senli both competed at the inaugural American Athletic Conference Tennis Fall Championships on October 25-27 in Houston, Texas. The event crowned singles and doubles champions on both the men's and women's side with those winners earning automatic bids to the ITA Conference Masters Championships in November.
After three weeks of turmoil due to weather and travel, the Bulls were finally back on the courts for a regularly scheduled event at the AAC Tennis Fall Championships.
Leeson and Senli opened play on October 24 with an 8-5 win in the opening round of doubles play to advance to the quarterfinals. South Florida's duo was defeated, 8-6, in the quarterfinals on October 25 to the team from Tulsa who went on to win the double's championship.
In singles action, Senli won her opening round match over her opponent from North Texas by scores of 7-6 (4), 4-6, 7-5, before falling later in the day in the round of 16.
