With the win, USF improved to 7-2-3 overall and 2-1-2 in AAC contests, while UAB fell to 5-4-2 overall and 2-2-1 in league matches. The Bulls have scored four or more goals in a single AAC contest for just the sixth time in program history.

Five minutes later, South Florida extended its lead to 2-0. Felton was on the end of another assist as she sent a pass from one side of the box to the other for a waiting Sarah Brunner. After her first touch, Brunner chipped a ball into the box for Gentiana Fetaj. Fetaj needed just one touch and blasted a shot by the UAB keeper.

In the 28th minute, Fetaj chipped a ball into the box for a cutting Hill, who put a well-placed shot by the keeper and into the back of the net. The Bulls took a 3-0 lead into the break. South Florida produced 14 shots in the first half and held UAB to zero shots.

Hill struck again in the 53rd minute. Brooke Fabri sent a long through ball that hit Hill in stride. Hill launched a shot from outside the box into the upper 90 for the spectacular goal. The Bulls went on to win the match 4-0.

The USF defense was stout again and limited UAB to just three shots, with two shots on goal. The defense held the Blazers to only one corner kick. Leire Herraez Gallach produced her AAC-leading sixth shutout of the season. She tallied two saves on the night and moved her season total to 24.

Brown helped lead the Bulls to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2010, a program-record 16 wins and program-best NCAA Tournament third-round appearance in 2019, both conference regular season and tournament titles in 2020, and a string of 10 straight seasons with 10 or more wins (2012-21).
