Bulls fall to Rice Owls in AAC quarterfinals

The Bulls were defeated on Friday, 4-0.

DALLAS, Texas (April 19, 2024) – The No. 5 seed University of South Florida Bulls (12-11) fell to the No. 4 seed Rice Owls (12-9) on Friday afternoon, 4-0, in the 2024 AAC Championship quarterfinals.

The teams entered the quarterfinals matchup both ranked inside the ITA Top 60 with South Florida checking in at No. 59 nationally and Rice ranked No. 57.

Rice earned the doubles point on Friday with scores of 6-3 on Court 2 and 6-4 on Court 3.

The Owls went on to claim the match with wins in singles action on Courts 3, 1 and 5.

The Bulls will await their NCAA postseason fate for an at-large bid with the field being announced during the selection show on Monday, April 29 at 6:30 p.m.
