TAMPA, Fla., November 12, 2025 – The USF Women's Tennis team wrapped up its fall season on a strong note at the UNF Fall Invitational, delivering several standout performances across both singles and doubles play to close out the semester.
Amelie Drukerova led the way with a near-flawless weekend, capturing her singles bracket title after three straight-set victories. She defeated Eastern Kentucky (6-3, 6-3) and Virginia Tech (6-3, 6-4) before sealing the championship with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 win over UNCC.
Margherita Marcon also impressed, collecting back-to-back wins over Eastern Kentucky (6-2, 6-2) and UNCC (6-7 [1-7], 6-3, 7-6 [7-4]) to reach her bracket final. Sienna Leeson picked up a hard-fought 6-3, 1-6, 6-1 victory against Maryland in her opening match and continued to push through a competitive draw that included multiple Power Four opponents.
Charlotte Ruud battled through three tight matches, including a pair of two-set thrillers against Louisville and UNC that came down to the wire. Loana Vargas gained valuable match experience against top regional opponents, while Dharani Niroshan had a dominant win against EKU (6-2, 2-6, 6-2) before being forced to withdraw due to injury.
The Bulls found additional success in doubles, where Leeson and Marcon went undefeated to claim their bracket title. Their success is highlighted by playing in the top bracket at the invitational, competing against only Power 4 opponents. The pair took down Louisville (7-6 [7-4]), Virginia Tech (6-4), and Maryland (6-1) in dominant fashion. Meanwhile, Drukerova and Niroshan opened their doubles play with a 6-4 victory over Eastern Kentucky and fought hard in close matches against Southern Miss and UNCC.
The weekend in Jacksonville capped an encouraging fall campaign for the Bulls, who showed strong growth and chemistry heading into the spring season.
South Florida will now turn its attention to spring dual match play, looking to build on the momentum from an impressive finish to the fall.
