November 07, 2025

150,000-square foot TGH Center for Athletic Excellence is part of the on-campus stadium project to be completed by 2027

TAMPA, FLA., NOV. 7, 2025 – The University of South Florida Athletics Department released new renderings of the TGH Center for Athletic Excellence, the future home of USF Football operations and a central component of the university's transformational on-campus stadium project, scheduled for completion in fall 2027.

TGH Football Operations Center Weight RoomThe 150,000-square-foot facility will be directly connected to the stadium and located adjacent to the Bulls' current Porter Family Indoor Performance Facility and practice fields on the east side of the Tampa campus.

The latest renderings highlight several key spaces, including the grand two-story lobby, state-of-the-art weight room, team meeting room, and training table dining area. The TGH Center will also feature coaches' offices, a players' lounge, sports medicine and recovery facilities, position meeting rooms, and a number of unique amenities such as a barbershop, recording and mixing studio, nutrition bar, and golf simulator.

"It's going to be the nicest football complex in the entire country,'' USF Head Coach Alex Golesh said. "I give Jay Stroman (vice president for advancement and CEO of the USF Foundation) a ton of credit. They allowed us to take the time to do it right and go see places around the country that are the standard.

TGH Football Operations Center Training Table"Jay gave us the ability to get on a plane and go see the last six buildings that got built. So, we arrived at all the things that made sense. They spared no expense. We're going to have a building that is the new standard, a complete first-class environment. We took the best out of everything we saw and put together the plans for a building that will be absolutely awesome.''

The new weight room will include custom-built racks, a sports science lab equipped with advanced performance technology, a nutrition station, strength coaches' offices, and a DXA scan machine to measure bone density, fat, and muscle composition.

The team meeting room will feature custom tiered, theater-style seating, dual projection screens, and space to accommodate the entire team and staff.

TGH Football Operations Center Team Meeting RoomThe training table will resemble a sports bar–style dining venue, offering a variety of meal options alongside chef and nutrition staff offices. It will also include a teaching kitchen where student-athletes can learn to prepare nutritious meals.

Serving as the main entrance to both the football facility and the stadium's south tower premium seating, the grand lobby will open onto Sycamore Drive and offer a flexible, dramatic space designed to host special events and gatherings.
