BULLS BLOW BY THE BLUE DEMONS IN THE WINDY CITY

TAMPA, FLA. (March 22, 2025) - The South Florida women's tennis team (6-12) battle to win the match vs. DePaul (9-7) by a score of 4-3 on Saturday afternoon in Chicago, Ill. Today's match marked the Bulls first road win of the season. 

The Bulls fought hard in doubles play with duo Josefine Falster/Charlotte Ruud putting on a dominant performance, but ultimately lost the overall point to the Blue Demons.

The South Florida team brought the energy heading into singles play. Josefine Falster claimed Court Six in a commanding fashion, winning in two sets (6-3, 6-1). Melisa Senli fought back from being down a set and claimed her victory on Court One (2-6, 6-4, 6-2). Kelly Vargas came out on top on Court Five with her three-set victory (1-6, 6-2, 6-2) to put the Bulls up 3-1 heading into the last three courts. 

All eyes were set on Court Two as South Florida and DePaul found themselves all tied up at 3-3. The Bulls had all the belief and brought the grit with Charlotte Ruud clinching yet another match win in a three-set nailbiter (3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-2)). This victory secures Ruud's sixth straight singles win of the season. 

UP NEXT

The Bulls will take a week off then return to their home courts in Tampa, FL for a doubleheader weekend to face Rice on Friday, April 4 at 12 p.m. EST and Florida International on Sunday, April 6 at 12 p.m EST for Senior Day.
