TAMPA, FLA. (March 5, 2025) - The South Florida women's tennis team (2-9) returns to action this weekend after a week-long break with a pair of afternoon matches against Toledo (6-2) on Friday, March 7, and Liberty (5-8) on Sunday, March 9 at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts in Tampa, Fla.
Last time out, the Bulls earned their second victory of the season with a 4-0 sweep against Tulane. Charlotte Ruud had a flawless match, winning 6-0, 6-0 on Court Four. All three singles courts finished in two sets in favor of USF, securing the match win.
Friday's clash marks the third all-time meeting between the Rockets and the Bulls. USF is 2-0 in the series, with the most recent meeting resulting in a 5-2 win on March 5, 2023. Freshman Jacklynka Scholten enters the weekend highlighted by an 8-0 singles record.
Sunday's showdown against Liberty will be the fourth all-time meeting between the two programs. The Bulls lead the series 2-1, but Liberty won the most recent matchup, 4-2, on February 19, 2022. Freshman Yu-Yun Chen enters the weekend on a two-match singles win streak and looks to add to her 12-7 record.
Both matches begin at Noon EST and will be streamed on YouTube.

Head coach Cristina Moros, a former collegiate national champion and four-time All-American, is in her 10th year at the helm entering the 2024-25 season. She was named the 2017 AAC Coach of the Year after leading the Bulls to the conference championship that season.
