USF Cross Country Heads to Apalachee Regional Park for FSU XC Invite

September 25, 2025

TAMPA, Fla., September 25, 2025 — The University of South Florida cross country teams will line up against a talented field this Friday at the FSU XC Invite, held at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida. The men's 8K begins at 7:40 a.m., followed by the women's 6K at 8:20 a.m.

Admission and parking are free for all spectators, and fans can follow live results online or watch the races streamed on YouTube.

Apalachee Regional Park, one of the nation's premier cross country venues, will host the 2026 World Cross Country Championships, marking the first time the event has been held in the United States since 1992 and just the third time in history.

The Bulls enter the meet coming off a strong performance at the Southern Showcase, where both the men's and women's squads posted impressive finishes. On the men's side, Nicolas Dovalovsky turned in a standout effort, finishing 44th out of 452 runners in the 8K with a time of 24:38 — the third-fastest mark by a USF runner in the event over the past 20 years.

"This meet gives our student-athletes an incredible opportunity to compete at a high level," said USF Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Erik Jenkins. "This meet will test our teams in all the right ways as we continue to build momentum this season. Our group has been training with purpose, and we're excited to see them rise to the challenge."
