TAMPA, Fla. – University of South Florida Athletics has announced a partnership with FanWord, one of the leading AI technology and storytelling companies in college sports, to integrate FanWord Assist into its communications strategy. This collaboration will give the Bulls' media team access to advanced tools that streamline the creation of high-quality written content, from game recaps, player bios, and athlete features to alumni spotlights and beyond.
FanWord Assist is FanWord's AI-powered storytelling platform designed to help sports communication teams produce engaging narratives quickly and efficiently, while maintaining complete editorial control. The software blends artificial intelligence with human oversight, enabling athletic departments to elevate the voices of their student-athletes, coaches, and programs without sacrificing authenticity or depth.
"As the landscape of college athletics evolves, so does our approach to sharing stories," said Martin Salamone, Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs. "FanWord will be a game-changer for our digital team as it streamlines the process for game recaps and player bios, saving valuable time, and enabling us to create significantly more content. This efficiency also gives us the opportunity to dive deeper into the stories that resonate beyond the field of competition, building stronger connections with our fans and community."
With this partnership, USF joins a rapidly-growing network of more than 150 athletic organizations nationwide using FanWord's platform. The Bulls stand alongside other conference institutions like Tulsa, as well as other programs such as Colorado, SMU and Texas Tech, in leveraging FanWord Assist to strengthen their storytelling efforts.
"USF has a vibrant athletics tradition and a passionate fan base, and we're thrilled to support their storytelling vision," said Chris Aumueller, CEO of FanWord. "We're excited to see how FanWord Assist will help the Bulls share more of the amazing stories that define their teams, their campus, and their community."
In today's digital-first landscape, the partnership between USF and FanWord represents a forward-thinking approach to athlete branding, fan engagement, and content strategy. By adopting FanWord Assist, USF is poised to amplify its storytelling reach, strengthen connections with supporters, and showcase the moments and people that make Bulls Athletics unique.
