TAMPA, Fla., February 14, 2026 – The University of South Florida Women's Tennis team delivered a dominant performance on Valentine's Day, shutting out Georgia State, 4-0, to secure a strong home victory. With the win, the Bulls improve to 2-4 on the season and carry momentum into conference play next week.
South Florida opened the afternoon by claiming the doubles point in convincing fashion. On court two, Josefine Falster and Charlotte Ruud set the standard early with a 6-1 victory over Georgia State's Sara Radojevic and Sveva Bernardi. The duo controlled the pace from the start, giving the Bulls a quick advantage.
Moments later, Melisa Senli and Francesca Miglio sealed the doubles point on court three with a 6-4 win against Lamiss Haouas and Defne Erbakan. The match on court one featuring Sienna Leeson and Margherita Marcon was left unfinished with South Florida in position to take control.
Carrying the momentum into singles, the Bulls continued to build their lead. On court one, Melisa Senli delivered a composed performance, earning a straight-sets win (6-3, 6-4) over Maria Paredes to give USF a 2-0 advantage.
South Florida continued to apply pressure in the middle and lower part of the lineup. Amelie Drukerova was strong on court five, earning a 6-3, 6-3 victory, while Loana Vargas secured the clinching point on court six with a 6-3, 6-2 win to complete the sweep.
With the team result decided, singles matches on courts two, three and four were left unfinished.
South Florida now turns its attention to its first conference match of the season, traveling to New Orleans to face UTSA as the Bulls open conference play on the road.
