TAMPA, FLA (Feb, 17) - Melisa Senli has been named American Player of the Week after going undefeated in the past week. Senli posted a 4-0 record as the Bulls won two home matches. The senior also delivered four clinching points, playing in both singles and doubles.Â
On Wednesday, South Florida took a 5-2 win over Stetson. Senli paired with Francesca Miglio on court three, and delivered a 6-3 victory that clinched the doubles point for the Bulls. Senli then went on to lead the Bulls on court one with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Stetson's Katia Tuliakova. This performance on court one handed the Bulls their first home win of the season.Â
On Saturday, the Bulls came out on top over Georgia State with a clinching 4-0 sweep. Senli/Miglio returned to doubles court three with a 6-4 win that clinched another doubles point for South Florida. Senli took her place back on court one playing Georgia State's Maria Paredes. She took a 6-3, 6-4 victory that clinched the match for the Bulls.Â
Senli has won her past three singles matches and has posted a 3-2 singles record early in the season. Last year, Senli finished the season 8-5 in singles.Â

Head coach Cristina Moros, a former collegiate national champion and four-time All-American, is in her 11th year at the helm entering the 2025-26 season. She was named the 2017 AAC Coach of the Year after leading the Bulls to the conference championship that season.
