TAMPA, Fla. (March 15, 2026) – The University of South Florida women's tennis team (5-8) fell to the Liberty Flames women's tennis team (10-5), 4–1, on Sunday morning at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts.
Liberty claimed the early momentum by securing the doubles point. The Flames earned wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions to take a 1–0 lead, while the match at No. 1 doubles between Josefine Falster and Margherita Marcon of USF and Liberty's Yoanna Radulova and Maria Turchetto went unfinished.
The Bulls responded in singles play with a strong performance from Melisa Senli at the No. 2 position. Senli delivered a dominant showing, defeating Radulova 6–1, 6–1 in straight sets to secure South Florida's lone point of the day.
Liberty regained control in singles play to clinch the match. The Flames first earned a win at the No. 5 position, followed by another victory at No. 4 singles. Liberty then secured the deciding point with a win at the No. 1 spot to seal the match.
Several other singles matches remained unfinished after the clinching point, including a tightly contested battle at No. 3 singles between Falster and Turchetto and a third-set decided at No. 3 for Loana Vargas.
With the result, South Florida moves to 5–8 on the season while Liberty improves to 10–5.
