USF Women’s Golf Concludes Regular Season at the Boilermaker Spring Classic

TAMPA, Fla. (April 11, 2026) – The University of South Florida women's golf team is on the road for the final regular-season tournament on Sunday, April 12. The Bulls will compete in the Boilermaker Spring Classic at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex: Ackerman-Allen Course.
 
South Florida is coming off its best finish of the season, a victory at the Bell Bank "Pay it Forward" Collegiate, where they won by 10 strokes. Regina Plascencia claimed the individual title, completing a USF sweep. Plascencia will be joined by Cherry Marley, Emma Kim, Holly McLean, and Alice Webb, who will compete for the Bulls at the Boilermaker Spring Classic. Matylda Krawczynska will compete as an individual. 
 
South Florida will be joined by host Purdue, along with Bradley, Butler, Chattanooga, Cincinnati, Denver, Findlay, Illinois, Illinois State, Minnesota, Northern Illinois, Princeton, Purdue Fort Wayne, South Dakota State, and Wisconsin.
 
The Ackerman-Allen Course is a 6,211-yard, par-72 course. The tournament will be a shotgun start at 9 a.m. South Florida tees off on holes 1-3 and will be joined by Minnesota, Illinois, and Purdue.

Tampa native AJ Newell, a former LPGA Tour Player and NCAA All-American, enters her second season as head coach of USF women's golf. In her first season, she coached Leonor Medeiros to the American All-Conference Team. Newell coached the Bulls to four top-10 finishes in the 2024-25 season.
 
Newell took over leadership of the Bulls' program following a successful three-year stint as assistant coach at the University of Michigan, where she helped guide the Wolverines to three straight NCAA Regional appearances, a 2022 Big Ten title, and a trip to the 2022 NCAA Championship Finals.
