YOUNGSVILLE, La., April 23, 2026 – The No. 4 seed South Florida Bulls battled through a split day to open play at the Conference USA Beach Volleyball Championship in Youngsville, La. On Thursday.
USF opened the tournament against No.5 Tulane Green wave, dropping the match 3-1, sending the Bulls into the elimination bracket. Facing a win-or-go-home scenario in their second dual of the day, the Bulls responded with a 3-0 sweep over No.8 Tarleton State to extend their season.
Matches are played until one team reaches three points, with remaining courts going unfinished.
#5 Tulane 3, South Florida 1
Tulane struck first at pair three, where
Morgan Anderson and
Abigail Lagemann fell in straight sets.
The Green Wave added a second point at the four spot, as
Sasha Pasloski and
Ryann Genest dropped their match to give Tulane a 2-0 lead in the dual.
Looking to shift the momentum,
Kate Stewart and
Ariana Medchill responded with a strong showing at pair five, earning a straight set win 21-17, 21-19, to put USF on the board.
However, Tulane answered by clinching the dual at the No. 2 position, securing the third point.
#8 Tarleton 0, South Florida 3
The Bulls set the tone early, as
Morgan Anderson and Abigal Lagemann secured the first point with a straight-set victory, 21-9, 21-14.
Julia Panko and
Cornelia Crudu followed with another strong performance, earning a 21-18, 21-17 win to give USF a 2-0 advantage.
Ryann Genest and
Sasha Pasloski then sealed the deal, clinching the match with a 21-14, 21-14 victory.
With the sweep, South Florida advances to tomorrow's action.
