TAMPA, FLA., APRIL 27, 2026 – Four members of the 2025 South Florida football team have earned invitations to NFL rookie minicamps as they begin their respective professional careers. They are: Linebacker Mac Harris (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), defensive lineman Josh Celiscar (Las Vegas Raiders), long snapper Garret Cates (New York Jets) and cornerback De'Shawn Rucker (Detroit Lions).
Harris, who spent six seasons with the Bulls, played in 59 career games and did not miss a contest in his final three seasons. He was USF's second-leading tackler in 2025 with 103 stops, 7.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks on his way to earning first team All-American Conference honors.
Celiscar spent one season at USF after spending time at both UCF and Texas A&M earlier in his career. In his lone season in Tampa, Celiscar played in all 13 games and had 34 tackles, three TFLs and two sacks.
Cates, who is from Lutz, Fla., was a two-year starter at long snapper for the Bulls after beginning his college career at Charleston Southern. He played in every game over the last two seasons and USF kickers were 31-of-43 on field goals and made 111 of 113 extra points.
Rucker spent his final two collegiate season at USF after transferring from Tennessee. In 2025, he was a first team all-conference honoree who posted a career-best 11 tackles in a season-opening win over Boise State.
