USF Men’s Golf Heads to Columbus for NCAA Regionals

South Florida looks to clinch a berth to the NCAA Championships for the second straight season

COLUMBUS, Ohio (May 17, 2026) – The South Florida men's golf team will head to Columbus, Ohio for the NCAA Regionals, hosted by Ohio State, on May 18-20 at the OSU Golf Club – Scarlet Course.
 
USF is competing at the NCAA Regionals for the third straight season and is seeking its second consecutive NCAA Championship berth.
 
The tournament consists of three rounds, with 18 holes played each day. The Bulls will tee off at 8:25 a.m. on Monday from the first hole alongside California and South Carolina. The OSU Golf Club – Scarlet Course is a par-71, 7,422-yard course.
 
The tournament will be streamed live on Babygrande Golf.

Last Time Out
South Florida finished fourth out of 11 teams at the American Championship, posting its lowest 54-hole score of the season at 24-under 840. Wilhelm Ryding led the Bulls with an eighth-place finish among 59 golfers at 9-under 207.
 
Previewing the Bulls
Ryding was named the American Conference Player of the Year and was a unanimous selection to the All-Conference team – his second straight season with an All-Conference nod. He is ranked No. 61 in the NCAA men's golf player rankings and is the highest-ranked player in the American, according to Clippd.
 
Ryding leads the team with a 69.90 stroke average and has recorded 13 rounds in the 60s and 24 rounds at par or better.
 
Jackson Spybey ranks second on the team with a 70.75 stroke average and has posted 22 rounds at par or better. He has carded 11 rounds in the 60s this season, including a record-breaking final round at the Linger Longer Invitational with a 9-under 63 on March 22. Spybey finished 32nd at the American Championship.
 
Hugo Trommetter is third on the team with a 71.88 stroke average with 14 rounds at par or better. He posted two rounds in the 60s at the American Championship, finishing 11th with a 6-under 210.
 
Joshua Stewart owns a 72.31 stroke average with 14 rounds at par or better. He recorded a season-best round of 5-under 67 in the second round of the American Championship, leading to a 14th place finish.
 
Roman Solomon (72.21) posted a season-best round of 5-under 67 in the final round of the American Championship. He has five rounds in the 60s and 10 rounds at par or better this season.
 
Nino Palmquist (72.00) will serve as the substitute. He has eight rounds in the 60s and 15 rounds at par or better this season. The redshirt junior won the Saint Leo Invitational with a season-best 14-under par 202 on Feb. 16-17. 
 
The Field
The 13-team field includes No. 2 Florida, No. 11 Arizona State, No. 14 Stanford, No. 23 Long Beach State, No. 25 Florida State, No. 35 Utah, No. 38 South Carolina, No. 48 California, Memphis, Oregon, Illinois State and Wright State.

About USF Men's Golf
The USF men's golf program has captured 19 conference titles and has seen players earn 19 All-America honors. The Bulls have won six American Athletic Conference Tournament championships in wire-to-wire fashion, winning four consecutive from 2015-18. The Bulls have had six individual conference champions, including Jake Peacock in both 2024 and 2025. They went to nine straight NCAA Regional appearances from 2013-2022, including a 6th place finish in NCAA Championship match-play in 2015. USF is led by Steve Bradley, who has been named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year five times since taking over the program in 2014. The Bulls have posted 25 tournament wins under Bradley including three in the 2023-24 season, by far the most under any coach in program history.
