South Florida Men’s Golf: Palmquist and Spybey Named NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars

NORMAN, Okla. (Aug. 3, 2026) – South Florida men's golfers Nino Palmquist and Jackson Spybey were named 2025-26 NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Monday.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
Palmquist and Spybey earned their second academic award of the 2025-26 academic year after being named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. Palmquist also earned NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors for the second consecutive season.
Palmquist appeared in 32 rounds and ranked third on the team with a 72.13 stroke average. He won the Saint Leo Invitational with a career-best 54-hole score of 14-under 202, the fourth-lowest 54-hole score in program history. The senior recorded 106 birdies, 15 rounds at par or better, eight rounds in the 60s, and three eagles.
Spybey ranked second on the team with a 71.20 stroke average while playing in 34 rounds. He set the program record for the lowest individual round, shooting 9-under 63 in the final round of the Linger Longer Invitational. The junior posted a season-best 54-hole score of 12-under 204 to place third at the West Bay Collegiate Invitational, his best finish of the season. Spybey recorded 117 birdies, 22 rounds at par or better, 11 rounds in the 60s, and two eagles. He also registered eight top 25 and three top 10 finishes.
