South Florida Women’s Tennis Adds Lauren Proctor to Coaching Staff

Four-time Big South Conference Player of the Year comes to Tampa after two seasons on the coaching staff at Charlotte
TAMPA, Fla., August 3, 2026 – South Florida Women's Tennis Head Coach Cristina Moros announced the addition of Lauren Proctor as the program's assistant coach.
Proctor joins the Bulls after serving as a graduate assistant at Charlotte during the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons. During her time with the 49ers, she assisted with all aspects of the program, including practice planning, player development, recruiting, match preparation, and day-to-day operations.
"Lauren's experience, professionalism and character bring tremendous value to our coaching staff, department, and most importantly, our student-athletes," said head coach Cristina Moros. "Her background as an accomplished junior player, standout collegiate student-athlete, and professional tennis player and coach provide a wealth of knowledge that will strengthen every aspect of our program. I'm excited to welcome Lauren to our staff and look forward to working alongside her and our graduate assistant, Melisa Senli, to provide our talented group of young women with an exceptional coaching experience."
Before beginning her coaching career, Proctor established herself as one of the most accomplished players in Big South Conference history at Winthrop. She became the conference's first-ever four-time Big South Player of the Year while helping lead the Eagles to four Big South Conference championships as the team's No.1 singles player.
Proctor compiled an outstanding 85-11 singles record and a 78-24 doubles mark during her collegiate career. She earned national recognition by climbing as high as No. 14 in the ITA singles rankings and No. 9 in the ITA doubles rankings. Following the 2017-18 season, she became the first tennis student-athlete in Big South Conference history to be named the Big South Female Student-Athlete of the year.
After graduating from Winthrop with a bachelor's degree in exercise science, Proctor transitioned to the professional ranks, competing on the ITF World Tennis Tour. She achieved a career-high WTA singles ranking of No. 606 and reached No. 582 in the doubles rankings while capturing four ITF doubles titles.
