Athletic Medicine LogoWelcome to the University of South Florida and its Intercollegiate Athletics Program. The health of every student-athlete at the University of South Florida is the primary concern of the USF Athletic Medicine Department, a group that covers every facet of the health care spectrum. The USF Athletic Medicine Department is comprised of both licensed and certified athletic trainers, dietitians, physical therapists, mental health counselors, and sports psychologists. USF Athletics and its Athletic Medicine Department is proud to partner with the best physicians and health care providers in the Tampa Bay Area to provide the best comprehensive medical care to all of our student-athletes. Looking ahead, USFAM plans to continue to be recognized as a leader in both clinical sports medicine and research in several areas.

The Athletic Medicine Clinic is housed in the Lee Roy Selmon Athletic Center. Since the opening of the Athletic Medicine Clinic in May of 2004, the 5,400 square foot clinic has since been upgraded and designed with the health care of every student-athlete in mind.  It features brand new modalities and rehab equipment, as well as three state-of-the-art Hydroworx series pools. The Hydroworx 1000 is equipped with an underwater treadmill, three current jets, an underwater camera monitoring system, and a computer control console.

The University of South Florida Athletic Medicine Department has grown by leaps and bounds over the past decade, expanding its staff and resources for the ever changing healthcare needs of the student-athlete. Under the guidance of Associate Athletics Director and Director of Athletic Medicine, Tony Cordova, the USF Athletic Medicine staff offers comprehensive health care with special emphasis placed on injury prevention.
