THE HALL OF FAME
The University of South Florida Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 2009 to recognize and perpetuate the memory of student-athletes, teams, coaches and administrators who have made demonstrably outstanding and significant contributions to the success, tradition and heritage of USF Athletics, and who demonstrate the character and values that define the highest principles of sport. Induction in the University of South Florida Athletic Hall of Fame is the highest honor afforded by the USF Athletics Department.

NOMINATIONS
Nominations shall be accepted from the general public and members of the Hall of Fame Committee through a standard nomination form. Nominations submitted after the published yearly deadline will be tabled until the following year. Nominees shall remain eligible for three years and, if not elected in that period of time, must be re-nominated for further consideration.

INDUCTION
Beginning with the Class of 2019, a maximum of three (3) individuals shall be inducted into the Hall of Fame in a given year. To be inducted individuals must be at least four years removed from their USF career. Voting on nominees for induction shall take place during the spring semester and shall be conducted by the Hall of Fame Committee appointed by the Vice President (Director) of Athletics. 

Individuals voted into the Hall of Fame must be present for induction, which shall take place during the fall semester during a USF football home game weekend. 

STUDENT-ATHLETE INDUCTEES 
Any student-athlete who has competed on a USF varsity athletics team shall be eligible for consideration, provided that four years have passed since the completion of his or her eligibility. Professional accomplishments will be considered, however, a strong emphasis will be placed on a candidate's accomplishments while at USF. Graduation from USF is not required for election, but individuals must have exited USF maintaining academic eligibility. Consideration will also be given to a candidate being in good standing in regards to their conduct and citizenship. 

The following criteria are examples of accomplishments that should be considered as a guide in electing outstanding student-athletes (not listed in order of importance):

 􀂃 Olympic medal winner or member of Olympic medal-winning team
 􀂃 Individual or team NCAA national champion
 􀂃 Individual or team conference champion
 􀂃 Setting of world, national, NCAA, conference or USF records
 􀂃 National or conference player of the year honors
 􀂃 Receiving All‐America or all-conference team honors
 􀂃 Participation in the Olympics or other IOC‐recognized international competitions
 􀂃 Participation on National Teams
 􀂃 Academic honors
 􀂃 Professional athletic accomplishments
 􀂃 Other contributions deemed to be of historic importance

HEAD COACH AND ADMINISTRATIVE INDUCTEES 
Any varsity team head coach or athletics administrative staff member who has represented USF shall be eligible for consideration, provided that four years have passed since the completion of their USF tenure. Candidates will be considered based on their achievements while a head coach or administrator at USF.  Consideration will also be given to a candidate being in good standing in regards to their conduct and citizenship. 

The following criteria are examples of accomplishments that should be considered as a guide in electing outstanding head coaches (not listed in order of importance):

 􀂃 Coaching an Olympic medal-winning team
 􀂃 Coaching teams to national and conference championships
 􀂃 Overall coaching record and length of service at USF
 􀂃 National and conference coach of the year honor or other national recognition
 􀂃 Record of post-season success
 􀂃 Other contributions deemed to be of historic importance

The following criteria are examples of accomplishments that should be considered as a guide in electing outstanding administrators (not listed in order of importance):

 􀂃 Length and quality of service
 􀂃 National recognition for NCAA-level leadership
 􀂃 Leadership deemed to be of historic importance

INDUCTION EVENT
Inductees shall be invited to the University of South Florida Athletic Hall of Fame Induction event to be held during a USF football home game weekend in the fall.  Attendance is required for induction, with the obvious exception of posthumous inductees.

USF ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME COMMITTEE
The USF Athletic Hall of Fame Committee shall consist of nine voting members and four non-voting members assigned by the Vice President (Director) of Athletics. The nine voting members will serve two-year terms (initial term starting in 2019 of 2 or 3 years to stagger turnover) and encompass a past Hall of Fame inductee, two Varsity Club Board members, the Faculty Athletics Representative, Senior Woman Administrator, USF Alumni Association representative, a former USF Athletics coach or staff member, a distinguished community member and the Vice President (Director) of Athletics. The four non-voting members will be selected from current USF Athletics staff and will aid in the following of procedures and regulations for voting on induction and provide historical reference on nominated candidates.
