Red McEwen Field

Opened for the 2011 season, the USF Baseball Stadium was built around Red McEwen Field, which is the home to USF baseball. It is part of a joint complex with the equally impressive USF Softball Stadium, which it shares a concourse with.
The stadium was part of the $35 million USF Athletic District facility upgrades, which included construction of new baseball and softball stadiums, a state-of-the-art basketball facility, new football practice fields and a new soccer stadium. USF contracted design/build solution provider R.R. Simmons and global design practice specialist and architectural firm Populous to lead the construction of the Athletics District Facilities.

The Stadium
The baseball stadium includes step-down team dugouts, bullpens, covered batting cages, multiple party pavilions, a press box and a 1,500-seat spectator grandstand with a shade canopy, an elevated, shaded hospitality deck and service amenities. The overall capacity of the stadium is 3,211 and is designed to accommodate additional seating that will enable USF to host NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals.
The first game at the USF Baseball Stadium was Feb. 22, 2011 against Elon in front of 3,126 in attendance. The first sellout was on March 9, 2011 when the Bulls hosted No. 1 Florida.
