A transfer safety who joined the Bulls in January of 2026 after playing a season at Kansas State and one at South Alabama...came to USF having seen action in 25 collegiate games and posted 58 tackles.

2025 (KANSAS STATE): Saw action in 12 games, logging 13 tackles, one tackles for loss and a pass break-up...posted a season-best five tackles (3 solo) at Oklahoma State...posted two tackles vs. North Dakota and vs. TCU...logged tackles in seven games.

2024 (SOUTH ALABAMA): Played in 13 games with eight starts during his true freshman season, totaling 45 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, two interceptions, nine total passes defended and a forced fumble... logged a season-high 12 tackles at LSU, a game in which he also had a season-high tying two passes defended... tallied his first-career interception against Northwestern State and batted away another pass...second interception of the year came against Western Michigan in the Salute to Veterans Bowl... had pass breakups against North Texas, Ohio, Appalachian State and Southern Miss... posted six tackles against Ohio and Texas State, while he had five against Arkansas State... his two tackles for loss came in consecutive games against Northwestern State and Appalachian State.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Columbia High School under head coach Chip Bilderback... rated as a safety by On3, which placed him No. 43 in the Class of 2024, while the organization viewed him as the 15th-best overall prospect in the state of Mississippi... also competed in basketball and track and field. 

PERSONAL: Amarion (pronounced uh-MAR-ee-on) Fortenberry was born December 30, 2005, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi... son of Adrien and Ashley Fortenberry... has two siblings, Aniyah and Adrieyana... plans on majoring in business.
