2016: Second-team all-conference selection… started all 13 games at “MIKE” linebacker, the quarterback of USF’s 4-2-5 defensive scheme… posted 100 tackles in consecutive seasons…his 120 tackles rank second on USF's all-time season list and one off the record... led the team with  6.0 sacks, a career high… ranked second on the team with 8.5 tackles for loss to go along with an interception, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and three pass breakups… ranks seventh on USF’s all-time tackles list with 303 career stops… led the team in tackles in six games: Towson (7), NIU (13), Syracuse (13), UConn (11), SMU (14) and the Birmingham Bowl (9)…tied a career high with 14 tackles at SMU (11/19)… set a career high with 3.0 sacks and 3.0 tackles for loss against UConn (10/15)… posted his second-career interception against UCF (11/26)... tied for the team lead with nine tackles in the Birmingham Bowl (12/29)...academic all-conference.

2014: In his first season on the field, Sanchez started all 12 games at middle linebacker…earned Frank Morsani Leadership Award…finished fourth on the team with 65 tackles (36 solo) and added 2.0 tackles for loss, one interception, two pass break-ups and a recovered fumble…returned a fumble 21 yards for a touchdown and also had an interception to go with three tackles vs. Maryland (9/6)…posted three or more tackles in every game…logged a season-high 11 tackles to lead USF in a win at Tulsa (10/18)…had eight tackles at Cincinnati (10/24)…posted seven tackles vs. Houston (11/1)  and vs. UCF (11/28)…had six tackles at Memphis (11/22)…averaged seven tackles per game over the final six games…lettered...academic all-conference. 

2013: A redshirt season.

NORTHEAST HIGH SCHOOL: Coached by Mike Jalazo at Northeast ... a three-year starter who was a two-time all-state and three-time all-county selection ... tallied 298 tackles and 39 sacks during his three prep seasons ... an honorable mention 7A all-state selection by The Associated Press as a senior ... an all-Pinellas selection and an honorable mention all-Suncoast pick ... voted team captain ... posted 160 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 16 TFL, eight pressures, two INTs and a forced fumble ... ranked 34th in the Tampa Bay Times' Top 100 entering his senior year ... a third-team 7A all-state selection by The AP as a junior ... a second-team all-Suncoast pick ... tallied 78 tackles, 18.5 sacks, 27 TFL, 13 pressures, an INT and two forced fumbles ... earned all-Pinellas and all-Tampa Bay honors as a sophomore ... recorded 60 tackles and 17 sacks ... also lettered in basketball.

PERSONAL: Born in St. Petersburg, Fla. ... lived in Miami from ages 5-7 ... son of Suzanne Sanchez ... brother, Armando, played football at USF from 2008-11 ... was a member of the National Honor Society...an avid fisherman who caught six varieties of game fish in Tampa Bay and hopes to own his own charter boat one day...earned his bachelor's degree in communications with a 3.58 grade-point average  in the fall of 2016...on pace to earn his master's degree in physical education with a 3.96 GPA in the spring of 2018.
