A converted linebacker and transfer from Rutgers, he joined USF in the Spring of 1997 and quickly became a starter at right defensive end... A heads up player with a nice combination of size and speed... Looked to for leadership on a young defensive front... Enjoyed solid 1998 Spring season, with 2 1/2 sacks in Spring Game.
SOUTH FLORIDA -1997: Started nine games at right end and played in all 11 contests... Missed starts against Southern Illinois (10/18) and Georgia Southern (11/15) with a nagging shoulder injury... Totaled 31 tackles on the season, with 10 of those for a loss, including seven quarterback sacks for 34 yards... Had season high seven tackles against Charleston Southern (11/1)... Had six tackles, including a season high five solos (three for losses) and two sacks in USF's Inaugural Game with Kentucky Wesleyan (9/6).
RUTGERS - Played a portion of the 1995 season at Rutgers prior to returning home to Tampa to be with his cancer-stricken father, who has since recovered... Sat out all of 1996 but completed his A.A. degree at Hillsborough Community College... Originally signed and enrolled at Rutgers in 1994, but redshirted that season.
PREP - Finished senior season at Tampa Catholic (1993) with 97 tackles, including 12 sacks and four blocked punts... Third team all-state in Class 3A... All-Suncoast Conference and All-Hillsborough County three-year starter for Coach Bob Henriquez Senior team finished 8-3 with a berth in the state playoffs.
