2016 USF OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE YEAR

2017: All-conference honorable mention… started all 12 games, two at right guard before moving back to center… helped pave the way for the Bulls to rank second in the conference and eighth nationally with 264.1 rushing yards per game… also helped the Bulls rank sixth nationally in total offense (513.0 ypg) and 10th in scoring offense (38.3 ppg)... started the season on the Rimington Trophy watch list… one of 10 USF football players to graduate in spring 2017.
2016: Started all 13 games at center after winning the job in fall camp… 13 career starts…earned the team's Offensive Lineman of the Year award…helped the Gulf Coast Offense set school records with 77 touchdowns, 47 rushing touchdowns (third in the FBS), 3,709 rushing yards and 6,650 yards of total offense, while ranking in the top 20 in the nation in sacks allowed (1.15)…helped the Bulls extend their nation-leading streak of 30-plus point games to 17… paved the way for USF to finish the season ranked fourth nationally in scoring offense (43.8 ppg), fifth in rushing offense (285.3 ypg) and 11th in total offense (511.5 ypg).
2015: Appeared in six games as a backup to Dominique Threatt at the right guard position.
2014: Ruff started one game and saw action in two on the year…was number two on the depth chart at center behind three-year starter Austin Reiter who missed just a handful of snaps over that span…started at left guard vs. Maryland (9/6)…lettered.
2013: A redshirt season.
JESUIT HIGH SCHOOL: Coached by James Harrell at Jesuit ... a versatile two-way player who was a three-year starter, all-state and two-time all-county selection ... played in the FACA North-South All-Star game ... a first-team 5A all-state selection by The Associated Press as a senior ... a first-team all-Suncoast and all-Hillsborough pick ... earned the team's MVP award ... led the way for Jesuit to rush for 1,843 yards ... also posted 36 tackles, five sacks, 11 TFL and a fumble recovery ... ranked 46th in the Tampa Bay Times' Top 100 and 34th in the Orlando Sentinel's MidWest Super 60 entering his senior year ... a second-team all-Hillsborough selection as a junior ... posted 14 pancakes, 19 tackles, a sack and an INT ... helped the Tigers average 153 rushing yards per game ... led Jesuit to an 11-2 record and a berth in the regional finals ... earned the teams' Iron Man award ... added 24 tackles, three sacks and seven TFL as a sophomore ... also lettered in track and field.
PERSONAL: Born in Birmingham, Ala. ... moved to Tampa when he was 6 months old ... son of Calvin and Kim Ruff...earned his degree in management in the spring of 2017...co-president of USF's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)... selected as the American Athletic Conference representative to attend 2016 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum.
