Clifford Snow joined USF as director of football operations in 2017 after serving in the same role on head coach Charlie Strong’s previous staffs at Texas and Louisville. He has over 18 years of football operations experience having worked with five other football programs.
Snow oversees many aspects of the USF football program, including team travel, personnel, departmental budget, game day operations and is a liaison to the athletic departments’ senior staff along with handling several other organizational duties.
Snow served in a similar capacity under Strong while at Texas (2014-16) and Louisville (2011-14).
Snow has previously served as director of operations at the Kentucky (2010-11), East Carolina (2004-10) and South Carolina (1999-2004). While at USC, he also served as the special assistant to the head coach.
The Bristol, Conn., native began his career as a position coach, serving as the defensive line coach at UConn from 1995-98 and took on recruiting coordinator duties in his final season with the Huskies. In December 1998, Snow assumed the responsibility as UConn’s interim head coach until a new head coach was named.
Snow played defensive back at Central Connecticut State, earning his bachelor’s degree in biology in 1983 and a master’s degrees in biology in 1993. After earning his bachelor’s degree, Snow spent three and a half years as a biological research technician, studying Lyme disease. At the same time, he began his coaching career as an assistant coach for four seasons at The Gilbert School in Winsted, Conn. He then moved to Windsor (Conn.) High School, spending four seasons as an assistant before being elevated to head coach for three years (1992-95).
