Mike Sollenne was named University of South Florida offensive line coach in December of 2025, joining head coach Brian Hartline’s first USF staff.

A former standout offensive tackle at LIU Post, Sollenne came to Tampa after a successful season at UNLV that saw the Rebels go 10-4 with an offense that ranked in the top 25 nationally in scoring, total yards and rushing.

Sollenne (sol-N-ee) previously spent time in Florida on Dan Mullen’s staff at the University of Florida and spent three seasons as a graduate assistant at Ohio State on Buckeyes teams that reached the semifinals of the College Football Playoff in 2022 and won the CFP National Championship in 2024. He brings 10 years of coaching experience to South Florida.

BEFORE SOUTH FLORIDA

UNLV: Sollenne joined Dan Mullen’s Rebel staff on Jan. 3, 2025, after previously working on his staffs at Florida. The Rebels went 10-4 and reached the Mountain West Championship game. UNLV ranked No. 18 in scoring offense (34.1 ppg), No. 20 in total offense (446.4 ypg) and No. 24 in rushing offense (195.5 ypg). Running back Jai’Den Thomas led the nation averaging 7.00 yards per carry as he posted 1,036 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. He earned All-MW First Team honors as he was the only player in the nation to post four 100-yard games on less than 15 carries. Center Reid Williams earned second team all-conference honors while tackle Austin Boyd was honorable mention.
 
OHIO STATE: Sollenne spent three seasons (2022-24) as an offensive line graduate assistant at Ohio State, which reached the semifinals of the College Football Playoff in 2022 and won the CFP National Championship in 2024.
 
During Sollene’s time in Columbus, the OSU O-line became one of the Big Ten’s best. In 2024, he helped guide a pass blocking unit that stood atop the conference and sat eighth in the country in fewest sacks allowed. Additionally, the Buckeye blockers paved the way for an offense that among the league standings ranked first in average yards per play (6.96), second in passing efficiency, passing yards per attempt and scoring offense, as well as third in total offense.
 
In 2023, Sollenne was named a member of 247’s “30 Under 30” list honoring college football’s top young coaches.

FLORIDA: Served under Dan Mullen for the Gators from 2020-21 as graduate assistant and later as interim offensive line coach.

EARLY COACHING CAREER: Before heading to Gainesville, Sollenne spent time coaching the tight ends at Austin Peay and the 2016-18 seasons at Nassau Community College as offensive line coach and run game coordinator.

PLAYING CAREER (LIU Post)
Sollenne played offensive tackle at Long Island University Post (2012-15), where he earned All-NE-10 First Team honors as a senior. A National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame Hampshire Honor Society member, he was selected to play in the Dream Bowl All-Star game following the 2015 season.

PERSONAL
A native of Massapequa, New York, Sollenne graduated from LIU Post with his bachelor’s degree in physical education before going on to earn his master’s in sports management from Florida. He and his wife, Tori, were married in 2021.
