HIGH SCHOOL: A safety who grew into a linebacker…transferred to Cardinal Newman HS…helped lead the team to a 9-2 record in his senior season, which ended with a loss to Chaminade-Madonna in the playoffs…posted 18.0 sacks in his senior season to lead his team and rank 15^th in the state of Florida…added 66 tackles, 22.0 tackles for loss and a forced fumble in 11 games…named Defensive MVP…posted nine tackles and four sacks in a win vs. Palm Beach Central… In 2022 at Atlantic, Byrd posted 123 total tackles to rank No. 7 in Class 3M…he also had 17 pass breakups, two fumble recoveries for 29 yards, and three picks - two for touchdowns…ran the 200 and 400 meters in track…had offers from Illinois, FAU, Illinois State, Eastern Kentucky, Bethune-Cookman, and North Carolina A&T…loves to fish.
