2020: Saw action in six of the Bulls nine games, starting all six games...missed three games (Notre Dame, Cincinnati and ECU) in the first part of the season due to COVID-19 protocols...finished second on the team with 44 tackles and 5.0 tackles for loss and led the team in tackles in two games...added an interception, a blocked kick, two pass break-ups and two quarterback hurries on the year...led the team with 13 tackles and two tackles for loss and added an interception in a 58-46 loss to UCF (11/27)...led the team with nine tackles and blocked a field goal attempt at Temple (10/17)...had seven tackles and a tackle for loss at Memphis (11/7)...posted six tackles vs. Tulsa (10/23).
2019: Played in 12 games and made 10 starts at weakside linebacker…totaled 75 tackles, 12.5 tackles for a loss, three sacks for a loss of 45 yards and two pass breakups…led USF in total tackles (75), solo tackles (48) and tackles for loss (12.5)…ranked 18th in The American with 6.2 tackles per game…stood 12th in the league in tackles for loss…tied his career-high with 10 tackles vs. Memphis (11/23)…had a career-high three tackles for a combined loss of 9 yards at UConn (10/5)…had a sack for a loss of 10 yards vs. BYU (10/12)…made at least five tackles in nine games…recorded a sack against Temple (11/7)…posted one pass breakup against Cincinnati (11/16).
2018: Played in 12 games with two starts at weakside linebacker – at Houston (10/27) and against Tulane (11/3)…totaled 20 tackles, one tackle for loss, one pass breakup and one fumble recovery…set a career high with 10 tackles and recovered a fumble against Tulane (11/3)…recorded at least one tackle in seven games, including three stops in a win at UMass (10/6).
MIAMI CENTRAL HS: As a senior, totaled 37 tackles, 12 sacks and an interception while helping his team post a 9-3 record and regional semifinal appearance…a relentless pass rusher who posted 23.5 sacks in his last two seasons…played both defensive end and outside linebacker…posted three-sack games against Chaminade-Madonna (8/24) and Northwestern (10/20)…registered two sacks in games against Booker T. Washington (8/31) and Palm Bay Heritage (11/10)…posted 56 tackles with 13 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks as a junior, including scoring a defensive touchdown.
PERSONAL: Born on Dec. 7, 1999, in Miami...son of Dwayne and Cheryl Boyles...has two younger sisters, Ilesia and Gabriello...his cousin, Sydney Simpson, played cornerback at UCF...earned his degree in integrated public relations and advertising in the fall of 2021...earned USF Athletics Honor Roll in the fall of 2020 and spring of 2021...a 2020 and 2021 AAC All-Academic team selection.
