Biography

Transferred to USF in 2022 after four seasons and 27 games played at Baylor, including starting 12 of 14 games and totaling 2,523 yards (2,200 passing/323 rushing) and 27 touchdowns (18 passing/9 rushing) during the 2021 season in which the Bears went 12-2 and won the Sugar Bowl…a former Elite 11 quarterback and four-star recruit (247 & ESPN), he passed for 11,362 yards and 142 touchdowns and ran for 5,925 yards and 70 touchdowns in his high school career.

2022: Earned the starting job in fall camp and started the first seven games of the season before suffering a shoulder injury that required surgery ended his campaign...completed 57 percent of his passes for 1,070 yards, six touchdowns and six interceptions while running for 386 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 6.4 ypc...passed for 219 yards in his first win as a Bull vs. Howard (9/10)...passed for a season-high 253 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 74 yards and a touchdown vs. ECU (10/1)...posted two 100-yard rushing games: running for 102 yards and a touchdown at Number 18 Florida (9/17) and a career-best 117 yards, with a 59-yard long, at No. 24 Cincinnati (10/8), where he added 139 yards and two touchdowns passing...ran for 59 yards and a touchdown vs. Tulane (10/15) and added 109 yards and a touchdown passing before leaving the game in the second quarter with a shoulder injury. 

2021 (BAYLOR): All-Big 12 Honorable Mention QB…a First Team Academic All-Big 12 selection…started 12 of 14 games...finished the season 173-225 for 2,200 with 18 touchdown passes and rushed for 323 yards and nine touchdowns...ran for a touchdown in five straight games and in seven games in a nine game stretch…Manning Award Mid-Season Watch list...Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award semifinalist...seventh in the Big 12 in total yards per game (210.3)...led Big 12 quarterbacks with nine rushing touchdowns...tied for the second-most total touchdowns among Big 12 quarterbacks (27)... did not throw an interception in his first six games of the season...threw for 40 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 20 against Mississippi in a Sugar Bowl victory (1/1)...missed the Big 12 Championship game against Oklahoma State and regular-season finale vs. Texas Tech with a hamstring injury (12/4)...recorded a career-high 107 rushing yards with two rushing touchdowns vs. Oklahoma (11/13), while throwing for 117 yards and a touchdown...made his ninth start of the year at TCU completing 14-of-20 passes for 214 yards and three touchdowns...in his eighth start of the year against Texas (10/30) he went 17-of-30 for 190 yards and two passing touchdowns while rushing five times for 27 yards and a touchdown...went 18-of-28 for 231 yards and a touchdown against BYU (10/16)...set career-highs with 336 passing yards and four touchdowns vs. WVU (10/9)...threw for 159 yards with two touchdowns while rushing for 36 yards and another score against Iowa State (9/25) ...completed 82% of his passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown in the Big 12-opener against Kansas (9/18)...recorded 247 yards passing and three touchdowns and another 27 yards and two touchdowns rushing against Texas Southern (9/11)...his five total touchdowns vs. TSU were the most by a Baylor quarterback since Seth Russell’s six vs. WVU in 2016...made his first career start against Texas State (9/4) and threw for 148 yards while completing 62.5% of his passes.
 
2020 (BAYLOR): A First Team Academic All-Big 12 selection…saw action in two games as a backup quarterback...completed one pass for seven yards and rushed four times for 19 yards on the year...completed his only pass attempt for seven yards, ran twice for 16 yards in a win vs. Kansas (9/26)...ran two times for three yards in a loss at WVU (10/3)...did not play the final seven games of the season.
 
2019 (BAYLOR): A First Team Academic All-Big 12 selection...finished the season 17-of-36 for 187 yards with two touchdown passes and ran 42 times for 272 yards and 3 touchdowns…ran for a total of 177 yards on 29 carries (6.1) in the first two games…made his 10th appearance of the year in the Sugar Bowl vs. Georgia (1/1), but did not record a stat...made his ninth appearance of the year in the Big 12 title game vs. OU (12/7), throwing for one touchdown on 4-of-15 passing for 56 yards and ran nine times for 15 yards as he took over for the injured starter...at Kansas (11/30) he tied his career high with seven rushing attempts for 42 yards, including running for his third touchdown of the year, also was 2-for-4 passing for 20 yards...vs. Texas (11/23) he ran six times for 21 yards and was 1-for-2 for seven yards passing...ran twice for 13 yards vs. WVU (10/31)...vs. Texas Tech (10/12) he ran once for 4 yards and had one pass attempt...at K-State (10/5) he ran for a four yard touchdown and connected with RJ Sneed for a career-long pass of 38 yards...against UTSA (9/7) he ran for 93 yards on seven carries, including his first career rushing touchdown, and also went 4-for-7 passing for 15 yards...in the season opener vs. SFA (8/31), he went 5-for-6 for 51 yards passing and tossed his first career touchdown on a 9-yard pass to Tyquan Thornton…also ran for 84 yards on six carries with a long of 39. 
 
2018 (BAYLOR): Big 12 Academic All-Rookie selection…appeared in three games as a true freshman, vs. Oklahoma State (11/3), TCU (11/17) and vs. Vanderbilt (12/27)...ran twice for five yards vs. Oklahoma State...did not record a stat vs. TCU...went 0-for-1 in his first collegiate pass attempt vs. Vanderbilt in the Texas Bowl (12/27).
