McGee started his career as a safety before converting to a linebacker late in the 2017 season and starting 10 games at outside linebacker in his senior season in which he led the Bulls with 111 tackles, the eighth most in program history...played in 48 games and logged 22 starts...recorded 217 career tackles, 17.0 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and an interception.
2018: Named second team American Athletic All-Conference by conference coaches and third team by Phil Steele…started 10 of the 12 games he appeared in at outside linebacker…led USF, ranked third in The American and stood 42nd in the NCAA with 9.3 tackles per game...his 111 tackles (64 solo) rank eighth in school history for tackles in a single season…recorded just the 15th 100-tackle season in school history…led the team in tackles in five games...ranked seventh on the team with 6.5 tackles for loss…registered 1.5 sacks, one quarterback hurry, one forced fumble and one safety…collected a career-high 14 tackles in a win at Illinois (9/15)…tied a career-best with 2.0 tackles for loss and 1.0 sacks at Houston (10/27)…recorded 11 tackles (all solo) at Temple (11/17)…finished with 13 tackles (9 solo) against UCF (11/23)…tallied 11 tackles in a victory over Elon (9/1)...had seven tackles and a pass breakup in the Gasparilla Bowl (12/20).
2017: Posted 38 tackles (29 solo), 3.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble and four QB hurries in 11 games… made six tackles against Texas Tech in the Birmingham Bowl (12/23)... set a new career high while tying for the team lead with 10 tackles (seven solo) at UCF (11/24)… tied his previous career high with nine tackles, along with 1.5 tackles for loss, against Tulsa (11/16)… registered six tackles (five solo) and a forced fumble against Houston (10/28).
2016: Appeared in 13 games, making 10 starts at the “Striker” safety position and one at cornerback…set career highs with 51 tackles (33 solo stops), 4.0 tackles for loss, an interception, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries…made his first-career interception at Cincinnati (10/1)… set career highs with nine tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss and a forced fumble at SMU (11/19)... tied for the team lead with nine tackles in the Birmingham Bowl, along with posting two fumble recoveries, a sack and a QB hurry (12/29).
2015: Appeared in 12 of the team’s 13 games…totaled 17 tackles (14 solo), including three tackles for loss and one recovered fumble…made his collegiate debut and recorded his first-career tackle in a 51-3 rout of FAMU (9/5)…posted a tackle for loss and recovered a fumble in the 38-14 win against SMU (10/24)...had a career-best five tackles and two tackles for loss in the Miami Beach Bowl (12/21) vs. Western Kentucky.
MIAMI NORTHWESTERN HIGH SCHOOL: A three-star recruit, McGee earned Florida All-State Class 6A honorable mention honors…selected for the Miami-Dade North vs. South All-Star Game… listed at No. 15 in the Miami Herald’s Miami-Dade Class of 2015 Top 25 Recruits this past fall…also received offers from Wisconsin, Rutgers, Akron, Marshall, Purdue, Mississippi State, Kentucky, West Virginia, Western Kentucky, Utah, FSU, FIU, Texas, Louisville, FAU… coached by Eddie Brown and Stephen Field at Miami Northwestern.
