Dario enters his 4th year overall with USF football, leading student-athlete rehabilitation. He returned to USF in 2022 after serving time at the Universities of Florida and Tennessee.
A graduate of the University of Nebraska, Dario received his Master’s degree from USF in 2019.
Before returning to Tampa, Gonzalez worked as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the University of Tennessee Football Program. In his time there, led the rehabilitation of numerous student-athletes from their initial surgery through their complete return to competition. He also created and implemented a QB arm care/maintenance program. Administratively, he coordinated mass ECG dates, medical documentation scanning, and upkeep and inventory of physician offices.
Prior to Tennessee, Dario worked with the University of Florida Football Program as an Intern Athletic Trainer. While there he assisted with injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehab. He spearheaded ATR upkeep, game packing, and practice & game set-up.
In his first stint at USF, Gonzalez served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer with the Football and Men’s Tennis programs. During this time, Dario earned Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer of the Year. He graduated with his Master of Science in Advanced Athletic Training in 2019.
Dario attended the University of Nebraska for his undergraduate education. While there, he gained valuable knowledge as an Athletic Training Student that would setup his future career in collegiate athletics. He graduated in 2017 with his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training.
Dario is a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer and Florida Licensed Athletic Trainer. He holds additional certifications CPR/AED techniques. He enjoys trying new food, weightlifting, and practicing his amateur gardening skills.
