EJ Foster was named assistant strength and conditioning coach for South Florida football in January of 2026.
He came to Tampa after a season serving as assistant director/football strength and conditioning at Mercer University, helping the Bears earn a 2025 SoCon championship and helping develop the 2025 Jerry Rice Award winner. At Mercer he designed, implemented and monitored all year-around speed and conditioning programs for the football program. He also held the sports science position and collected and analyzed performance data. He also worked with men’s lacrosse.
He spent the 2024 season as assistant sports performance coach at Stanford University. He worked with specialists group and RTP, designing, implementing and monitoring speed, strength and conditioning.
Prior to Stanford, Foster worked as an intern with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars (2023) and with the Florida State – assisting in the winter and spring strength and conditioning program with the Seminoles. He also interned with Move Period in Pensacola, Fla.
He earned a bachelor’s of science in exercise science from the University of West Florida in 2021 and master’s of science in exercise physiology (Sports Sciences) from Florida State in 2023. He has certifications from CSCS and American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED and has earned certifications in functional range conditioning mobility specialist and reflexive performance reset level 1.
