Matt Garcia was named the Bulls’ assistant strength and conditioning coach in the Spring of 2023.

Prior coming to USF, Garcia worked with the strength and conditioning staff at Ohio State University during the 2022 season. He spent 12 months with the Buckeyes under renowned strength and conditioning coach Mickey Marotti. Garcia developed personalized strength and conditioning programs, oversaw body weight regulation protocols, and assisted in the management of the football intern program. His involvement with the Buckeyes included exposure to a Heisman Trophy finalist and a trip to the College Football Playoffs.

Upon graduating from the University of Mount Union, Garcia went on to join the Iowa State Cyclones strength and conditioning staff as an intern under Dave Andrews. In his time with Iowa State, Garcia was a part of the most successful graduating class in school history.

Garcia began his coaching career at Mount Union where he gained experience as an intern, assisting with numerous men's and women's sports programs.

He earned a degree in exercise science with a minor in psychology from Mount Union, where he played running back and was part of the 2017 Division III National Championship team. He also was an all-state athlete at Phoenixville (PA) High School, where he set the program's single season rushing record in his senior season.
