The Bulls have brought a former star player back to help guide both golf programs.

Doug Ferris has returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach for USF's men's and women's teams. Ferris was the top USF men's golfer from 1999-2000 after becoming a two-time All-American at Manatee and Brevard community colleges.

Ferris played pro golf for the past 12 years and won more than 20 events on various tours that have included the Nationwide and Hooters circuits. The Brooksville, Fla., native also served as the playing pro at Southern Hills Plantation Club in his hometown since 2007.

Ferris' work duties include recruiting and assisting USF's players on the course.

He and his wife, Kari, reside in Tampa with their son Braxton.
