A transfer from McNeese State who joined USF in December of 2024…played two seasons at McNeese State, playing in 19 games and recording 153 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and nine passes defended…prior to that he played at Charleston Southern, appearing in four games.
 
2024 (McNeese State): Played in 11 games and was second on the team with 85 tackles and tied for the team lead with two interceptions…added 2.0 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, seven passes defended, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery…had four or more tackles in every game and logged three double-digit tackle games, including a season-high 12 tackles and a forced fumble vs. Stephen F. Austin (9/14)…had eight tackles in season-opener at Tarleton State (8/24)…posted 10 tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss vs. Southern (8/31)…had five tackles at Texas A&M (9/7)…posted 10 tackles at Weber State (9/28)…nine tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss and two pass breakups at UIW (10/19)…seven tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss vs. Texas A&M-Commerce (11/2)…six tackles and 0.5 sacks at Northwestern State (11/16)…nine tackles and a forced fumble in season-finale vs. Lamar (11/23).
 
2023 (McNeese State): Played in eight games, starting all eight…ranked second on the team with 68 tackles and added a half sack, two pass break-ups and a quarterback hurry…recorded 10 or more tackles in three games - 12 at Florida (11/9), 12 vs. UIW (10/21), 12 at Lamar (11/18)….had four or more tackles in every game…had 9 tackles and a half sack at A&M-Commerce (10/7)…posted eight tackles vs. Nicholls (9/30) and had seven at Alcorn (9/18).

2022 (Freshman at Charleston Southern): Appeared in four games, making 21 tackles with a tackle for a loss…had a season-high 9 tackles against North Carolina State (9/10)…logged four tackles and a TFL at Eastern Kentucky (9/17).

HIGH SCHOOL: Coached by Patrick Surtain at American Heritage School Plantation…a two-time second team All-Broward County selection…two-time Florida 5A state champion…posted 67 tackles, two interceptions, one pick-six, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, a blocked punt and a blocked field goal in his senior season…as a junior, recorded 95 tackles, one interception, six forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and three sacks…rated a three-star recruit according to 247sports.com.

PERSONAL: The son of Roxan Nugent and Cess Silvera…brother, Nesta Jade Silvera, starred at Miami for four seasons before playing as a graduate student at Arizona State in 2022 on the defensive line…Nesta was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in the seventh round (231st overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft.
