John Mendoza is now an assistant coach in 2008 after joining the women’s soccer staff as the team coordinator for the 2007 campaign.

Mendoza slso serves as the head coach of the U18 Girls Florida Soccer Club and with South Hillsborough Soccer League as a goalkeeper coach.

From 2004-07 Mendoza was the girls U16 head coach and goalkeeper trainer for the Blackwatch of Tampa club team. Prior to his time with Blackwatch, Mendoza held the same responsibilities with the U13 girls team of The Players Club of Tampa Bay.

In 2002, Mendoza opened the Gorilla Goalkeeping Company, from which he holds summer camps, Goalie War Tournaments and speed and agility training, all while acting as a personal trainer for goalkeepers.

The former assistant equipment manager for the Tampa Bay Mutiny, Mendoza holds a USSF D coaching license, a level III Goalkeeping license and an advanced regional diploma from the NSCAA.

Mendoza and his wife, Barbi, have three children, Kristy, Amanda and Joshua.
