Biography

Junior (2008-09): Tallied a 2-6 duals match record and a 7-9 overall record...Won her first two singles matches of the season against Alexis Rodriguez of the University of Central Florida and Isa Ohlinger of the University of Central Florida in the Gator Fall Classic (9/22/08)...Played predominately in the No. 2 singles position...Natalia Guevara and Allyn Muller were her doubles partners throughout the season...Guevara and Sweeting won four straight doubles matches together from 1/16/09 to 1/18/09...Guevara and Sweeting recorded a 5-7 doubles record together which was tied for the second best doubles record on the team...Three of those wins came during the FGCU/Johan Kriek Tennis Classic.

Sophomore(2007-08): Went 3-1, all in dual matches in her sophomore season.... Lone Loss came in the former of a 6-2, 6-0 loss to No. 46 Kristen Flower..... All matches were in the No. 6 position... Went 2-2 in doubles action.... Opened her collegiate career with three straight singles victories and two straight doubles victories.

Freshman (2006-07): Compiled a 13-9 dual-match singles record playing primarily at the No. 3 position ... Reached the finals of the Seminole Invitational in the fall season ... Bounced back from an early season loss by winning eight-straight matches defeating opponents from Jacksonville, Stetson, UCF, Kentucky, VCU, West Virginia, St. John’s and Wyoming ... Earned her first NCAA Tournament victory against Shilla D’Armas of Florida International, 6-4, 6-3. Juniors: Attended UMO high school in Miami ... Earned a ranking of No. 67 by the ITF after reaching the semi-finals of the Banana Bowl ITF Grade A in Brazil ... Defeated #2 seed (#15 in the world) Giulia Gabba of Italy 6-3, 6-1 and the #14 seed (#41 in the world) Andrea Remynse of the USA 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 after fighting off 2 match points ... Also holds the distinction of being the first female ever from the Bahamas to play in the main draw at Wimbledon in 2005 ... Trained under coach Nicolas Guizar of the Guizar Tennis Academy.
