Alexus Downer serves as a Learning Specialist in USF’s Academic Services department, a role she began in March 2025. She provides academic support and guidance to student-athletes, helping them develop strategies for success in the classroom.

Downer began her career in collegiate support as an Assistant Learning Specialist at the University of Georgia in January 2024, later transitioning to an Academic Support Intern role in July 2024. Prior to entering college athletics, she worked in behavioral therapy supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She earned her undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Georgia in 2019 and is completing her Master’s degree in Special Education from Columbus State University, expected in May 2025.
