Ben Ledwon was named sports science coordinator for South Florida football in January of 2026.

He came to Tampa from Rutgers University where he served as a sport science fellow from June 2024 to December 2025. In that role he conducted heart rate analyses, collected and analyzed performance data, and assisted in player recovery modalities.

Prior to Rutgers, Ledwon served as a sport science graduate assistant at Northern Arizona University, where he spearheaded the development of the Sport Science Department and worked closely with the football program. He utilized Power BI to monitor student-athlete performance data, collaborated with athletic trainers and strength and conditioning staff to develop a tactical periodization plan for football, and analyzed nutrition data to help optimize the nutrition program.

Ledwon began his career as a sport science intern at Florida State University, working with the football program. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida State in 2022 and a master’s degree in accounting from FSU in 2023.
